Why Robotics?
I briefly spoke with Project Jabberwocky team, those who were willing, to ask why robotics?

How do they see Robotics fitting into their futures?

They all seem to understand that robotics will help with their future and the paths they are taking.  All Project Jabberwocky members are college bound.

With the first meeting under our belt, we welcome new members. We have about 15 students interested in our team. Most are underclassmen which is great!  New team members also bring new parents and mentors to help guide our kids.  Hopefully these students will stay with Project Jabberwocky for the rest of their high school career.
These new students will be introduced to programming, the robot uses Java, Computer Animated Designing, Building, Marketing and Safety.

This year's competition is being called First Power Up. Along with the teaser video we still do no know what obstacles the robots will have to overcome.

New captains are being chosen and brain storming has begun.

I'm thinking 1980's video games...
So get out your parachute pants, flash dance shirt, leg warmers and big hair!

Project Jabberwocky

Team 1027
Project Jabberwocky

Welcome to Project Jabberwocky Team 1027 Robotics.  I'm excited to introduce you to the world of High School Robotic Competition.
First robotics was started in 1989 and has grown worldwide to more than 6000 teams. First means:
For
Inspiration and
Recognition in
Science and
Technology

The kids on our team are our future engineers, programmers, marketers, accountants, and builders. With a kit from First Robotics, a theme for competition and funds the students must raise (the school does not give financial support to this team) our kids have 6 weeks to build a robot to compete in the state, hoping to move on to nationals.
